  • 3 cups egg noodles
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crushed potato chips for topping

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • large bowl
  • saucepan (for noodles)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package directions, then drain them thoroughly and set aside.
Assembly
  1. In a large bowl, combine the drained tuna, cooked noodles, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and frozen peas.
  2. Stir in three-quarters of the shredded cheddar cheese, reserving the rest for later.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  4. Finally, scatter the crushed potato chips over the cheese layer.
Bake and Serve
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of hot sauce or some chopped celery to the mixture. If you don't have potato chips, crushed crackers or breadcrumbs also work well as a topping.
