  • 1 1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Cook linguine according to package directions until al dente; reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Melt butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant for about 1 minute.
  5. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  6. Pour in white wine (or broth) and lemon juice, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  7. Stir in cooked linguine and fresh parsley.
  8. Add reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce, then season with salt and pepper.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a splash of cooking sherry along with the white wine. Ensure not to overcook the shrimp, as they can become tough very quickly. Freshly squeezed lemon juice is highly recommended for the best taste.
