Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
Trick 1: Toasted Pecans
- Lightly toast the pecan halves in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until fragrant, then let them cool.
Assembly & Baking
- Evenly spread the toasted pecans in the bottom of the prepared pie crust and pour the egg mixture over them.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set and the crust is golden brown.
- Allow the pie to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
Trick 2: A Touch of Spice
- Add 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg to the pecan filling mixture for added depth of flavor.
Trick 3: Caramel Drizzle
- Just before serving, warm 1/4 cup of store-bought caramel sauce and drizzle it generously over the cooled pecan pie.
Notes
For best results, use good quality pecan halves. If the crust starts to brown too quickly, you can cover the edges with aluminum foil. This pie is delicious served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
