Prepare Chicken
- Toss chicken pieces with 1/4 cup cornstarch until fully coated. This creates a crispy exterior when fried.
Make Orange Sauce
- Whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, grated ginger, and minced garlic in a bowl. In a separate small bowl, combine cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
Cook Chicken
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Combine and Serve
- Pour the orange sauce into the skillet with the cooked chicken and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired, and serve immediately with rice.
Notes
For extra crispiness, consider double-frying the chicken. You can also adjust the sweetness and spiciness of the sauce to your preference by adding more brown sugar or a pinch of red pepper flakes.
