Method

Growing Spinach
  1. Plant spinach seeds in a container with potting soil, ensuring they are about 0.5 inches deep and 2 inches apart.
  2. Water regularly to keep the soil moist, and place the container in a spot that receives at least 4-6 hours of sunlight daily.
  3. Harvest spinach leaves when they are about 4-6 inches long, typically within 30-45 days of planting.
Growing Artichokes
  1. Plant your artichoke plant in a large pot filled with well-draining soil, ensuring the crown is at soil level.
  2. Water deeply and regularly, especially during dry periods, and provide full sun (at least 6-8 hours daily).
  3. Artichokes will be ready to harvest when the buds are tight and firm, usually 85-100 days after planting, or when they reach desired size.
Making the Dip
  1. Once harvested, chop 1 cup of fresh spinach and 1 cup of cooked artichoke hearts.
  2. Mix the chopped spinach and artichokes with 8 oz cream cheese and 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese.
  3. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and lightly browned.

Notes

For optimal growth, ensure consistent watering and proper sunlight for both spinach and artichokes. When harvesting, use sharp shears to prevent damage to the plants. You can also add garlic, onion powder, and a dash of hot sauce to the dip for extra flavor. Enjoy your fresh, homemade spinach artichoke dip!
