Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Peel and cut the sweet potatoes into 1-inch cubes, then boil them until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Assembly
- Drain the sweet potatoes and mash them in a large bowl, then stir in melted butter, brown sugar, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- For the topping, combine chopped pecans, flour, brown sugar, and cold butter in a small bowl, mixing until crumbly.
- Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the pecan topping over it.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and bubbly, then let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For an extra touch of sweetness, you can add a handful of mini marshmallows to the topping during the last 5 minutes of baking.
