Marinate the Beef
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil.
- Toss to coat the beef evenly and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or longer in the refrigerator.
Prepare the Sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, cornstarch, and water until well combined.
Cook the Broccoli
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
Cook the Beef
- Remove the broccoli from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet and increase the heat to high.
- Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned.
Combine and Serve
- Return the cooked broccoli to the skillet with the beef.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and broccoli.
- Stir continuously for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything.
- Serve immediately with steamed rice, if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. Adjust the sweetness and saltiness of the sauce to your preference. Serve over steamed white or brown rice for a complete meal.
