Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 large ripe avocados
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely diced
  • 2 tbsp cilantro chopped
  • 1 jalapeño minced, optional
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • medium bowl
  • fork

Method

Preparation
  1. Halve the avocados, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
  2. Mash the avocado flesh with a fork to your desired consistency, leaving some chunks for texture.
  3. Stir in the lime juice, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño (if using), salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Notes

For best results, use ripe avocados; they should yield slightly to gentle pressure. To prevent browning, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before refrigerating. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a side with your favorite Mexican dishes.
