Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Chickpeas, dried soaked overnight and drained
  • 1 Onion, small roughly chopped
  • 1/2 bunch Fresh parsley
  • 1/4 bunch Fresh cilantro
  • 3 Garlic, cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 3 cups Vegetable oil for frying

  • Deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine all ingredients except the oil in a food processor and pulse until finely minced but not pureed, scraping down the sides as needed. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Frying
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C). Form the falafel mixture into small balls or patties, then carefully drop them into the hot oil.
Serving
  1. Fry the falafel for 3-5 minutes, or until deeply golden brown and cooked through, turning occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels before serving hot.

Notes

For the best results, ensure your chickpeas are completely dry before processing. Serve your falafel hot with tahini sauce, pita bread, and fresh salad.
