  • 1 loaf Pound Cake cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 4 cups Mixed Berries fresh (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 package Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix large (5.1 oz)
  • 3 cups Milk cold
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Method
 

Layering the Trifle
  1. Prepare the vanilla pudding according to package directions using 3 cups of cold milk; refrigerate until set.
  2. In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  3. Arrange half of the pound cake cubes at the bottom of a large trifle dish, then top with half of the mixed berries, followed by half of the prepared pudding and half of the whipped cream.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining pound cake, berries, pudding, and whipped cream, then chill the trifle for at least 30 minutes before serving for best results.

Notes

For an extra touch, you can lightly soak the pound cake in a little fruit juice or liqueur before layering. Fresh mint leaves make a lovely garnish.
