Preparation
- Pat dry the salmon fillets with paper towels to ensure a crispy skin when cooked.
- Generously coat each salmon fillet with the blackening seasoning on all sides.
Cooking
- Heat olive oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Carefully place the seasoned salmon fillets, skin-side down, in the hot skillet.
- Cook for 4-6 minutes per side, or until the salmon is opaque throughout and flakes easily with a fork.
Serving
- Remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider marinating the salmon in a bit of lemon juice before applying the seasoning. Be sure to use a well-ventilated area as blackening can create a lot of smoke.
