Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb beef sirloin sliced thinly against the grain
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 carrots julienned
  • 1 bell pepper sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Equipment

  • large skillet
  • wok

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch; marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare all vegetables by slicing the bell pepper and julienning the carrots, then mince the ginger and garlic.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat, then add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside; add broccoli and carrots to the same skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender-crisp.
  3. Add bell pepper, ginger, and garlic to the skillet, cooking for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables, add the remaining soy sauce, and toss everything together to combine and heat through.
Serving
  1. Serve the beef stir-fry immediately over rice or noodles for a complete meal.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes with the ginger and garlic. Adjust soy sauce to your taste preferences, and feel free to experiment with other vegetables like snap peas or mushrooms.
