Optional Toppings
  • chopped nuts
  • sprinkles
  • melted chocolate

Equipment

  • craft sticks or skewers
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • microwave-safe bowl

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the apples, then remove the stems and insert a craft stick or skewer into the stem end of each apple.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  3. Unwrap the caramels and place them in a microwave-safe bowl with the milk.
Caramel Coating
  1. Microwave the caramels and milk on high for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until the caramel is smooth and melted.
  2. Carefully dip each apple into the melted caramel, turning to ensure it's fully coated.
  3. Allow excess caramel to drip off before placing the apple on the prepared baking sheet.
Finishing
  1. If desired, roll the caramel-coated apples in your chosen toppings.
  2. Refrigerate the caramel apples for at least 30 minutes, or until the caramel is firm, before serving.

Notes

For best results, use firm, tart apples like Granny Smith. Ensure apples are completely dry for caramel to adhere well.
