For the Chicken Marinade (Recipe 3: Honey Garlic)
  • 4 large chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Meat thermometer

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels to ensure even cooking and better browning.
  2. For each recipe, combine all marinade ingredients in a separate bowl and whisk until well combined.
  3. Place the chicken breasts into their respective marinades, ensuring each piece is fully coated.
  4. Cover the bowls and refrigerate the chicken for at least 30 minutes, or for best flavor, 2-4 hours.
Grilling
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, then lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  2. Place the marinated chicken on the hot grill, cooking for 6-8 minutes per side.
  3. Continue grilling until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) using a meat thermometer.
  4. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, reserve a small amount of marinade before adding chicken to use as a basting sauce during grilling. Ensure proper food safety by not using marinade that has touched raw chicken as a serving sauce unless it has been boiled.
