Method

Starting Seeds
  1. Start bell pepper seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date by planting them in seed starting mix, keeping the soil moist and warm (around 75-80°F), and providing plenty of light.
  2. Transplant seedlings into larger pots once they have two sets of true leaves, continuing to provide warmth and light.
Transplanting Outdoors
  1. Harden off the plants for 7-10 days by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions before transplanting them into your garden after the last frost.
  2. Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil and space plants 18-24 inches apart.
Care and Maintenance
  1. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, aiming for consistently moist but not waterlogged soil.
  2. Fertilize every 2-4 weeks with a balanced fertilizer, and consider staking taller plants to provide support.
  3. Watch out for pests and diseases, addressing them promptly with organic or chemical solutions as needed.
Harvesting
  1. Harvest bell peppers when they reach their full size and desired color, typically 60-90 days after transplanting.
  2. Cut the peppers from the plant with a sharp knife or pruning shears, leaving a small portion of the stem attached.
