Ingredients

Dough
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk warmed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Whisk
  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Oven

Method

Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, and egg.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a shaggy dough forms, then knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each into a smooth ball.
  5. Arrange the dough balls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), then bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Brush the warm rolls with additional melted butter if desired, then serve immediately.

Notes

For extra fluffy rolls, ensure your milk is warm (about 105-115°F/40-46°C) but not too hot, which could kill the yeast. You can also brush the baked rolls with melted butter for added flavor and shine.
