Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking dish by lightly greasing it.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry and season them with salt and pepper.
- Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with Italian breadcrumbs.
Cooking
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat thoroughly in breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and pan-fry the breaded chicken for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer the chicken to the prepared baking dish, spread marinara sauce over each piece, and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serving
- Remove from oven and let stand for a few minutes before serving with your favorite pasta or a side salad.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can broil the chicken for the last minute or two of cooking. Serve with a side of spaghetti or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
